Never felt so good or as strong...

On a rainy old day in Darling Harbour in Sydney, Australia to celebrate those young adults who have had Juvenile Myositis. I've never felt so good or as strong. Foot is holding up well. Life is great!

Joanne's article

In an earlier post I mentioned my friend Joanne who recently passed away. I thought I'd share a fantastic article that Joanne wrote a while back which also inspired my song about her.
Her article can be found at:  http://www.mamamia.com.au/social/dont-dis-fashion-my-passion/
Cheers, LB.

My boots

I highly recommend these Ascent boots. I've had lots of pairs over the years and they are great for someone like me that needs extra ankle support. They are comfy too and look kick-ass (literally)!

Here's me with a couple of my guitars. I'm holding "Leslie" my treasured Gibson Les Paul Standard.

Sunday 22 June 2014

This is a song I wrote dedicated to the memory of my friend Joanne who passed away recently.  Joanne had JDM. More about Joanne later.

Two JM survivors meet!

I've just come back from Brisbane where I met someone who also had Juvenile Dermatomyositis when she was little. Her name is Jo and she's very inspiring. She's in her early 20's now. This was the first time I had met another adult in person who had JDM as a child. I don't think it happens very often! We understand that we are both rare! We had a fantastic time exploring the city of Brisbane. I look forward to catching up with Jo again soon! :)

Mocktails!

As a JDM survivor, I don't drink alcohol. I do however love mocktails! Here is a picture of an amazing mocktail I had at the Radisson Blu Plaza hotel in Sydney the other evening. Delicious!

My cooking :)

Hey everyone. Well, it's only been about the past year or so that I've been cooking, in part due to my Juvenile Myositis. I found it difficult to get around a kitchen and having to juggle a few things at once. Anyhow, I've learnt to adapt and I'm enjoying my cooking. Here's a steak and veg dinner I made for myself the other night.

Happy New Year!

Wishing everyone a very happy 2014! Hope we are one year closer to finding cures for the forms of Juvenile Myositis. LB.
